Salt Lake City’s downtown is small compared to other major cities in the US. As I’ve grown an affinity for shooting the city, this can become frustrating as there’s only so many possible locations. But when the conditions are right and visibility is low, the layer of mystery returns.
My goal is to pull Salt Lake City outside of its context and make it unrecognizable. Building my own world of what I wish SLC could be. Longing for a larger city guides my process, trying to present a city beyond its boundaries, experimenting with other worlds to see what it would be like to live in them.
